Rime of the Ancient Mariner: The Musical is a huge musical theatre project I worked on for the several months.
The composer hired me to record all the vocals for an original musical theatrical adaptation based on the 1798 poem “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. A supernatural thriller with a Halloween / Day of the Dead theme.
I recorded all of the female and male vocal parts in my home studio. (And yes, I did move the baritone parts up into my range).
Here is Act 1 of Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Musical: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J6E9wErEmU
Set in Salem, Massachusetts on All Hallows’ Eve. A tarot card predicts “Muerte” on the eve of the Day of the Dead. A wedding feast has been prepped. When a Groomsman shoots an innocent birdie, the Ancient Mariner knows who must hear his tale of crime, punishment, penance and reconciliation before day break on All Saints’ Day. As the boundaries between the living and the dead thin, “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner: The Musical” will unleash a deadly curse on the Seven Seas, you’ll soon never forget.
